AVGS Guide

AVGS (Aktivierungs- und Vermittlungsgutschein) is a voucher issued by Agentur für Arbeit/Jobcenter and offered by the German government.

You can use it for paying coaching or training services (by registered providers) that aim to improve your career opportunities. You can also use AVGS for getting guidance how to start your own business in Germany.

💡 You are eligible to apply for AVGS if you are currently registered as a job seeker in Germany. After registering as a job seeker, you will be assigned an employment advisor (Sachberater) from Agentur für Arbeit/Jobcenter.

You don't necessarily have to be unemployed to get AVGS: you can apply for the voucher also if you e.g. know that your employment is ending in the future.

Keep in mind that you don't have a legal right to get the voucher - getting AVGS is dependent on the decision of your employment advisor (Sachberater) in AfA/Jobcenter.

💡 During our free intro call we can discuss your current situation and I will provide you an email template (in German) that you can use to apply for AVGS.

We can tailor it together to make a solid case you can then present to your employment advisor in AfA/Jobcenter.

Once you have applied, the decision might take up to two weeks.

💡 You will receive a written confirmation (Bewilligung) that indicates the details of the voucher. After this, we can start the coaching journey!

If for some reason you're not eligible for the voucher, we can discuss other options to get your career on the right path.
